Jupiter Launches $550 Million Jupuary Airdrop

Jupiter, a decentralized exchange (DEX) liquidity aggregator on the Solana blockchain, launched its Jupuary airdrop today.
Jupiter is distributing 700 million JUP worth $550 million to some 2 million eligible wallets. The airdrop began at 10:30 am EST, and recipients have three months to claim their tokens.

JUP is down about 8% to $0.82 from its 24-hour high of $0.92 earlier this morning, giving the token a market capitalization of roughly $2 billion.
The airdrop targets three groups. Token swappers will receive 425 million JUP, divided according to volume tiers. Stakers will receive 75 million JUP tokens. Other categories include community contributors and active governance participants.
The official X post suggested users avoid the rush in case Solana gets congested and transaction fees rise during the rush.
Last week, Jupiter released an eligibility checker for users to check their allocations. A Jupuary profile is required to participate in the airdrop, and participants must claim each wallet separately.
This is Jupiter’s second major airdrop after its token launch last year, which was accompanied by an airdrop of almost one billion tokens. Jupiter has committed to annual airdrops through January 2027.
