Pumpfun Rolls Out 'Cashback Coins'
Solana-based token launchpad pumpfun has introduced a new feature called “Cashback Coins.” The new product provides a choice for creators: they can decide to direct all creator fees toward traders or opt for traditional creator fees, but this choice must be made before launch and cannot be altered later.
Why it matters: The move is part of pumpfun's strategy to address ongoing concerns in the crypto space about the distribution of rewards and incentives.
CFTC Says Prediction Markets Should Be Federally Regulated
The U.S. CFTC took a firm stance on prediction market regulation, with the agency’s Chairman saying in a statement today that the markets should fall under federal, not state, oversight.
Why it matters: CFTC-regulated prediction market platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket US are facing lawsuits from gambling regulators in multple U.S. states for operating without state approval.
Zora Launches Attention Markets on Solana
Zora launched a new token market on Solana today, dubbed "attention markets,” where users can tokenize and speculate on real-world trends.
Why it matters: Zora is likely aiming to be first to market with the launch, after reports surfaced last week that Polymarket is partnering with Kaito to launch a similar offering.
