Optimism Airdrops $40M To Artists and Creators

Ethereum Layer 2 network Optimism has released details of its fourth airdrop, set to distribute over 10 million OP tokens across 22,998 addresses.

This round is intended to reward contributions made by artists and creators to the Superchain and broader crypto ecosystem. Users who have actively engaged with platforms such as Zora, Base, Ethereum mainnet, and Optimism mainnet are among those being acknowledged.

Through multiple airdrops, Optimism aims to refine and evolve the distribution mechanism, encouraging positive engagement within the ecosystem. The team is encouraging recipients to participate in governance and influence the future direction of artists within the collective.

OP is up 24% in the past 30 days, slightly outperforming Ether, which is up 18%.

Optimism is the second-largest Layer 2 network with over $7 billion in total value locked.
