Ethereum Layer 2 Abstract Announces Incentives Program

Abstract, the Ethereum Layer 2 built by Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, announced its version of a points program ahead of its mainnet launch.
TheLayer 2 is set to unveil its public mainnet before the end of January, and users who want to be rewarded for their time spent on the chain will be guided by Abstract’s XP incentives program.
Developers, users, and content creators on Abstract will be eligible for XP distributions at weekly and monthly increments, and will also have the opportunity to earn badges and awards that represent their participation.

“We strongly believe that exploring Abstract’s ecosystem without being forced to do specific actions is key to a sustainable ecosystem,” the post said.
Despite the post's claim that users should not be forced to do specific actions in order to be rewarded, Cygaar, a contributor to Abstract pointed out that incentives are “only for users that use Abstract Global Wallets (AGW) through our portal and apps deployed on Abstract. Other wallet usage will not qualify here.”
While some users were quick to point out the potential inconvenience, an Abstract team member clarified that there will be a section within the Abstract portal to link AGWs to existing externally owned accounts (EOAs).
Abstract Global Wallets are powered by Privy, allowing for secure embedded wallets that can be signed into via social logins such as email, X profiles, or passkeys.
