IPX Unveils KPI-Gated Escrow for On-Chain Crowdfunding & Sponsorship Campaigns

Funds raised on IPX are released automatically based on KPIs as agreed milestones are met

NEW YORK, October 29, 2026 — IPX, the operating system and exchange for intellectual property, today detailed its patent-pending KPI-Gated Escrow, a system for tying crowdfunding dollars for video games, video production and sponsorship payments to agreed platform milestones. The technology is planned for use with the platform’s November 15, 2026 launch.

The KPI-Gated Escrow is designed to better protect retail consumers and discourage bad actors & behaviors, bringing much-needed transparency, accountability, and reliability to both sides of crowdfunding and on-chain raises. The KPI-Gated Escrow is the symphony of bleeding-edge AI and blockchain technologies. Project funds raised are held in a non-custodial USDC rewards-generating escrow via a dedicated smart contract. Before the raise begins, creators must provide a detailed line-item budget of projected use of proceeds, which IPX’s AI agent, Alfred, programs into a CertiK-audited smart contract linked to on-platform milestones. If you are hiring the actor or executive producer for a film, the lines in that budget can only be released when those persons create a profile on IPX, complete KYC, and then sign their contract via IPXSIGN on-platform. Once those milestones are met, those funds are automatically unlocked and available for the creator to transfer. This process happens agentically and automatically with no human gatekeepers.

How It Works

• Production budgets. When a project completes its raise and meets the platform’s graduation requirements, its cash-out production budget moves into escrow. Releases are tied to agreed conditions, such as a contract being signed, a crew being booked, or a vendor being engaged. The platform reviews and approves milestone evidence before funds are released.
• Sponsorship campaigns. Campaign budgets are held in escrow and paid in stages against agreed deliverables or performance targets. Each release is tied to the conditions established for that campaign. For instance, CPMs being met on a live social post or branded YouTube video. IPX Creator OS social listening AI can detect that and automatically release the funds.
• Verification. The sponsorship workflow is designed to use an AI-assisted verification oracle to compare campaign performance with agreed KPIs, with a human co-signature before funds are released.
• On-chain records. Requests, approvals, and payments are recorded on IPX & Base L2 so token holders can follow disbursements as a project progresses.

The approach is intended to connect funding decisions to documented progress throughout a production or campaign, rather than releasing the entire budget to a production at the outset. For creators, it establishes a funding schedule tied to the work ahead. For sponsors and project participants, it provides visibility into the conditions attached to each payment.
