OnChain Heroes NFT Mint Leads GameFi Rally

NFTs and GameFi continue their strong price action, with a new NFT mint surging 13x from its mint price in less than six hours.

OnChain Heroes, an idle RPG (role-playing game) by pseudonymous developer SkarlyWarly minted a genesis collection of 1,000 ring NFTs at 0.2 ETH per NFT today. The collection swiftly repriced to 0.7 ETH on the secondary market, before climbing as high as 2.7 ETH, a 1,250% increase.

SkarlyWarly is known for their previous work as one of the original developers of the 2021 GameFi hit, Wolf Game. Wolf Game, an NFT and token staking game that leveraged game theory, skyrocketed post-mint in November, 2021, with its sheep NFTs reaching a 4 ETH floor, and its rare Wolf NFTs surpassing 30 ETH.

The OnChain Heroes ring NFTs remain unrevealed, but there will be a rarity aspect unveiled later on. The ring NFTs are not required to play the OnChain Heroes game. NFT holders will receive exclusive ecosystem benefits that include future NFTs, guaranteed mints, a token allocation, and unique in-game items.

The game is set to launch closer to January, and will be hosted on Abstract Chain, the upcoming consumer-focused blockchain that has been developed by Igloo Inc., the parent company of the Pudgy Penguins NFT collection.

The mint comes alongside a resurgence in gaming crypto tokens. Over the last month gaming crypto infrastructure tokens such as IMX and GALA are up 48% and 85%. Meanwhile, specific games, such as The Sandbox metaverse’s SAND token is up 160% over the last 30 days.

Gaming NFT enthusiast known as Grail.eth on social media posted on X, “it's clear to me the web3 gaming sector is wildly underpriced right now and is going to run soon. Just one spark will ignite gaming."
