Azuki Reveals ANIME Tokenomics with 37% Allocated to NFT Holders

Azuki, a popular NFT project, has announced the imminent release of its highly anticipated ANIME token, with 50.5% of the supply slated to be airdropped to the community and an additional 2% to partner communities.
The community allocation will be split amongst Azuki ecosystem NFT holders and partnered communities. Azuki ecosystem NFT holders will receive 37.5% of the token supply, to be immediately unlocked upon the token generation event (TGE). This figure is higher than Pudgy Penguins’ 26% allocation of PENGU to its NFT holders.
Partnered communities, including HYPE stakers, Kaito yappers, and other anime communities, will be eligible for 2% of the token supply, and another 13% will be allocated towards the future AnimeDAO.
ANIME was introduced in January 2024, and in March, the team announced the eventual launch of AnimeChain. It is presumed that ANIME will be tradable on Ethereum, Arbitrum, AnimeChain, and Hyperliquid after the Azuki team purchased the ANIME ticker at a Hyperliquid auction for $530,000.

Tokens’ Effect on NFT Collections
Despite a controversial launch, PENGU is trading at a $1.8 billion market capitalization, and the Pudgy Penguin NFTs swiftly recovered from their post-TGE dump. The Pudgy Penguins are changing hands at 23 ETH, or $70,000 per NFT, after reaching as low as 16 ETH on the PENGU launch day.
Since PENGU, the Azuki ecosystem has shown strength, and the NFTs are now trading at nearly 14 ETH, or $42,000, their highest price since 2023, when the ecosystem fell sharply after the mint of their second-tier collection, the Azuki Elementals.
Elementals and Beanz NFTs are also up substantially, with Elementals trading at 1.8 ETH after falling as low as 0.35 ETH, and Beanz trading at .9 ETH after bottoming out below 0.2 ETH.
Excitement for the token launch is beginning to expand outside of the NFT community as other market participants take notice.
A pseudonymous trader known as DeFiSquared announced his role as a new advisor to Azuki and said, “I think the vision here makes a lot of sense, so I'll be lending my insights to be an advisor on the project. There are some pretty impressive milestones and partnerships on the roadmap, and I think people will be pleasantly surprised by the upcoming airdrop.
