Abstract Consumer-focused Blockchain Launches Mainnet

Abstract, the highly anticipated Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) blockchain developed by Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, is open to the public.

In a Jan 27. X post, Abstract announced that its mainnet is now up and running, aiming to “unite creators, developers, and users together in the world’s first ecosystem for mass adoption.”

It also revealed some of the features of the network, including the Abstract Global Wallet, the Portal, and its incentives program.

The Abstract Global Wallet is an in-built Privy wallet offering users various perks and incentives. For example, using the Abstract Global Wallet to perform actions like playing games or making trades yields rewards like experience points (XPs) and badges, which are redeemable on the Abstract Portal.

The Abstract Portal is a gateway to all the applications and services on Abstract. It allows users to quickly find and connect to various apps and includes functionality to let users directly trade tokens.

However, perhaps the main attraction of the Abstract network is its incentive program for users, builders, and creators.

Builders earn monthly XPs when users interact with their apps, users earn XPs weekly for interacting with apps, and creators – streamers in this context – can earn XPs for creating helpful content on the network.

Users also earn badges for their participation on the network. There are three badges in total: flash badges, weekly badges, and secret badges. The project has not revealed any information about these badges and how users can earn them.

It’s presumed that Abstract will have a native token with an airdrop for early adopters and Pudgy Penguins NFT holders.
