Crypto spent the week trading a rate path the new Fed chair declined to endorse. Kevin Warsh held at 3.50%-3.75% in a 9-3 vote where all three dissenters wanted a hike, opened his first press conference in the chair with "there is no soft inflation target," and left bitcoin behind the last stock rally of July. Bitcoin still closed the month up 4.3%, and it trailed the Nasdaq by five points on the final day.

Onchain, the revenue math moved faster than the macro. Uniswap's fee switch reached v4 pools and nearly tripled protocol revenue, Morgan Stanley put staking yield inside two NYSE Arca wrappers, and Metronome found a $15.7 million hole where collateral was supposed to be.

Uniswap Protocol Revenue Nearly Triples After v4 Fee Switch as UNI Tops $4

Uniswap protocol revenue nearly tripled after Proposal 100 extended the fee switch to v4 pools on July 27, with about $325,000 flowing toward UNI burns in 24 hours against roughly $114,000 a day earlier in the month, per DefiLlama. The proposal passed with 46.6 million UNI in favor and 1.27 million against, extending fees across seven chains. Robinhood Chain supplied $170,353 of the past day's revenue, more than half, and Ethereum mainnet added $81,866. UNI rallied 12% to about $4.40 and the dead address now holds 107.8 million tokens. Dromos Labs co-founder Alexander Cutler says holders of locked v2 and v3 liquidity lost up to 25% of their fee share; Uniswap co-founder Hayden Adams called that math made-up, saying v4 charges the trader on top of the LP's full rate. Roughly $3 billion in TVL stayed put through day three.

Bitcoin Lags Stock Rally After Hawkish Fed Hold

Bitcoin fell 3.5% over 24 hours to $62,464 on Friday while the S&P 500 climbed 1.7% and the Nasdaq gained 2.8%, leaving crypto out of July's closing rally. The Fed held at 3.50%-3.75% on Wednesday in a 9-3 vote where all three dissenters wanted a hike, the first same-direction trio since 2016, and Chair Kevin Warsh opened his press conference telling reporters there is no soft inflation target. Ether dropped 3.1% to $1,863 and total market capitalization slipped 2.3% to $2.24 trillion. Spot bitcoin ETFs took in $233.1 million on Thursday, their best day in three weeks, and July still ranks as the smallest monthly net inflow since launch. Since 2013, Augusts following a positive July show a median 7.5% decline.

Morgan Stanley Launches Spot Ether, Solana ETPs on NYSE Arca

Morgan Stanley listed spot Ethereum and Solana exchange-traded products on NYSE Arca under the tickers MSSE and MSOL, each charging a 0.14% expense ratio. Both trusts stake a portion of holdings and pass the rewards through to investors, which hands the bank's wealth arm a yield-bearing crypto product its own advisors can sell. The 0.14% fee sets the bar for whoever lists next.

Robinhood Chain Tops Solana in Tokenized Stock Volume Via Memecoin Pairs

Tokenized stocks on Robinhood Chain averaged $29.7 million in daily DEX volume over the past seven days, against $11.1 million on Solana's xStocks and $13.4 million on Backpack's Sunrise, per a Dune dashboard maintained by OKX's Web3 wallet team. Daily active stock-token traders peaked above 20,000 in the week of July 20, the highest of any venue tracked. The volume comes from launchpads Bankr and long.xyz, which let users mint memecoins collateralized by tokenized shares across more than 90 tickers, so a trade in a pair like Artificial Inu/NVDA locks real equity exposure in the pool. Binance's bStocks still cleared $676.8 million a day on BNB Chain over the same week.

Metronome Discloses $15.7 Million Synth Shortfall

MetronomeDAO said roughly 6,367 msETH and 4.57 million msUSD in circulation have no collateral behind them, about $15.7 million, or 31% of all msETH in existence. Trading bots spent months arbitraging Chainlink feed latency inside the protocol's zero-slippage swap module, which on Base sat outside its 0.15% deviation band 18.5% of all minutes since launch. Metronome re-priced 241,292 swaps to find the hole. msETH trades at $1,378, down 25% in a day, and msUSD sits at $0.737; the treasury has staged $34 million notional in defensive positions plus $6.5 million in last-to-leave liquidity.
