Mastercard Joins Forces With Mercuryo To Launch Non-Custodial Crypto Card in Europe

Crypto payment infrastructure platform Mercuryo has integrated with Mastercard to launch Spend, a virtual crypto debit card denominated in Euros.
With the debit card, called Spend, users in the old continent can now pay via their non-custodial wallets with 40 cryptocurrencies at over 100 million merchants.
Spend is also integrated with Apple Pay and Google Pay, offering customers an automatic fiat-to-crypto conversion, although full integration with crypto providers can take up to a week.
Even though users can use Spend with most non-custodial wallet providers as a plug-and-play solution, the debit cards still require Know-Your-Customer and Anti-Money Laundering (KYC/AML) verification processes.
The card is currently available to users in Europe, and has a $1.78 (€1.60) issuance fee, a $1.11 (€1) monthly maintenance fee, and a $44,000 monthly spending limit.
Spend isn’t the first crypto Mastercard on the market. According to the firm’s website, it also partnered with Tap, Coinbase, and Nexo.
