AI Agent NFTs Outperform Broader Market

Amidst the AI agent token hype, agent-focused NFT projects are outperforming the rest of the market.

Two collections in particular, Parallel Avatars and Onchain GAIAs, are leading the charge, with the Parallel collection surging 100% to a high of 1.2 ETH from 0.6 ETH over the last two weeks and Onchain GAIAs rallying 115% to a high of 1.3 ETH in the same period.

Both collections reached similar heights in March 2024 but traded as low as 0.25 ETH during Q3 2024 before resuming their trajectory alongside the rest of the AI agent market in the fourth quarter.

Blending AI and Gaming

Onchain GAIAs and Parallel Avatars are both AI agent NFTs that are associated with crypto-based gaming.

GAIAs, or general artificial intelligence agents, minted in March 2024 via a signup sheet on Farcaster. The project, led by anonymous crypto investor Ciniz, recently added its first gaming and AI training method to its ecosystem, known as Henlo Kart.

Henlo Kart was launched alongside the ecosystem’s first token, HENLO, and is a mini-app built on Telegram that gamifies AI agent training. The HENLO token was airdropped to NFT holders in November and has doubled over the last week to a $36 million market capitalization.

Parallel Avatars are AI agent NFTs launched by the gaming ecosystem Parallel, launched in 2021 as an onchain trading card game (TCG). The team launched its official PRIME token in March 2023, which trades for $14.65, or a $780 million market capitalization.

The avatar collection is a part of Parallel’s highly anticipated Colony AI agent game, where players are paired with Parallel Avatars that interact in-game and “collaborate and compete to survive in a hostile future Earth.”
