Perle Labs opens its contributor platform for Season 1 after 1.7 million tasks and 333 million points were collected in two months during the Beta

Perle Labs, a data-labeling platform founded by veterans of Scale AI, MIT, Meta, and Amazon, has launched Season 1 of its contributor platform, opening access to users who can earn on-chain rewards for completing AI training tasks. The launch follows the Perle Lab Beta launch, where contributors completed 1.7 million tasks and earned 333 million points.

As Perle builds out its enterprise pipeline, Perle Labs is positioning itself to become the decentralized, crypto-native version of Scale AI. If Polymarket proved that prediction markets belong on-chain, Perle Labs is betting that data labeling is next. The company has raised $17.5 million with rounds led by Framework Ventures and CoinFund.

“Compute and researchers are table stakes. The real differentiator is how good your data is,” Ahmed Rashad, CEO of Perle, said. “This isn’t a tech problem you solve by throwing bodies at it. It’s a human problem you solve with tech.”

Season 1 introduces expanded task types across text, audio, image, and specialized domains. The platform uses an on-chain reputation system where accuracy scores unlock access to higher-value work.

Perle Labs is the Web3 arm of Perle AI, an enterprise-facing platform that serves AI teams with annotation workflows and quality assurance.

The launch comes amid a broader reckoning with AI data infrastructure. Meta’s $14.3 billion investment in Scale AI in June 2025 signaled what the industry already suspected: human feedback remains the bottleneck for training advanced models. Perle was recently cited alongside Scale AI and SuperAnnotate in an IEEE Spectrum report on the data labeling industry’s role in building agentic AI. Meanwhile, trends like vibe coding and the proliferation of AI-generated code have created unprecedented demand for human verification across the stack.

“Season 1 is about finding the right people, giving them the right tools, and getting the incentives right,” Rashad added. “Web3 lets us do that in ways traditional platforms can’t.”

Perle has begun onboarding enterprise clients in healthcare and robotics, sectors where domain-specific expertise and data accuracy are critical for model performance. The company has also started replacing incumbent vendors on enterprise AI projects.

Perle Labs Season 1 is now live.
