Google Cloud Teams Up With Mantra On Infrastructure and RWA Accelerator

Google Cloud continues to deepen its operations within the web3 ecosystem.
On Oct. 29, Google Cloud announced it is now the primary validator and infrastructure provider for Mantra Chain, a real-world asset (RWA)-focused Layer 1 network.
Google Cloud, the third-largest cloud provider, will host Mantra’s blockchain operations to ensure scalability and performance. Mantra said the partnership will facilitate faster transaction execution and increased liquidity for its users.
"Google Cloud is collaborating with Mantra Chain to accelerate the growth of the Web3 ecosystem by offering best-in-class tooling for building on-chain,” said Richard Widmann, head of web3 strategy at Google Cloud. “As Mantra Chain’s cloud provider and a network validator, we're providing the secure, scalable RPC and reliable infrastructure needed to empower developers and startups building on Mantra."
Google Cloud and Mantra will also collaborate on Mantra Incubator, an accelerator program promoting development and innovation within the on-chain RWA sector. The program will launch in Q1 2025, with participants set to receive cloud credits and technical support from Google Cloud.
Google Cloud recently launched infrastructure for Ethereum and Polyhedra, and provides node hosting and BigQuery data analytics for 19 different blockchains. The company also acts as a validator for multiple Layer 1 networks, including Aptos, Arbitrum, Solana, Hedera, and Fantom.
Mantra’s rise
The announcement comes as Mantra is enjoying a meteoric rise in 2024, with the project’s OM token rallying 6,550% year-to-date. OM now ranks as the 70th-largest cryptocurrency with a $1.2 billion market cap.
Mantra’s growth appears to have been propelled by its RWA pivot, culminating in Mantra launching its Layer 1 network on Oct. 23. The network aims to facilitate permissionless tokenization and provides compliance features allowing asset issuers to adhere to local regulations.
Mantra has inked high-profile deals with Dubai-based real-world asset firms this year, including a partnership with the real estate giant MAG to tokenize up to $500 million worth of property, and a memorandum of understanding with Zand Bank to streamline RWA identification and listing.
Mantra Chain's launch also allows tokenholders to stake their OM tokens. Users who migrate OM from an ERC-20 token will gain access to future RWA airdrops.
