Near’s Aurora Launches AI Memecoin Focused TurboChain

Near Protocol, a top 30 blockchain by market capitalization, recently announced the launch of a blockchain focusing on artificial intelligence (AI) and memecoins.

Near will launch TurboChain on its native Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM), Aurora Cloud. The chain’s native token, TURBO, is itself AI-generated and powers transactions on the platform.

TurboChain launches alongside TurboSwap, a decentralized exchange (DEX) with native support for three blockchains: TurboChain, Near Protocol, and Solana, wrote the official Aurora account on X. TurboSwap enables seamless cross-chain asset swapping and supports 18 cryptocurrencies, including major tokens like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and USDT.

TurboChain has yet to launch its first memecoin, but TurboSwap already supports several memecoins, including Turbo, Dogecoin, Pepe, Shiba Inu, Mogcoin, and Brett.

Near Protocol's NEAR token is down by 1.8% in the past 24 hrs., per Coingecko data.

Aurora Cloud

Near Protocol’s Aurora Cloud is a network of customizable EVM-compatible virtual chains that run as smart contracts on Near Protocol. These virtual chains aim to provide developers with the ability to launch Layer 2 (L2) blockchains without the required costs and complexities.

Aurora Labs is the development company behind Aurora Cloud. In 2025, it plans to launch 1,000 interconnected blockchains, each capable of empowering communities to use the Aurora Cloud to increase scalability and innovation within the crypto community. The TurboChain and TurboSwap launches mark the start of this plan.
