MegaETH Raises Over $13 Million From Fluffle NFT Mint

Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) and self-proclaimed first ‘real-time’ blockchain MegaETH’s first NFT mint has ended with $13.29 million contributed, according to a Feb. 12 X post from Adam Hollander.
MegaETH confirmed that the soulbound ‘Fluffle’ NFTs had sold out on X, and said the platform would begin preparations to launch its public testnet shortly.
The second-day mint marks the end of the first installment of MegaETH’s NFT distribution, with 5,000 NFTs sold for 1 ETH ($2,700) apiece. The second phase will distribute another 5,000 NFTs after a few months and will focus on teams that power the MegaETH community.
Only wallets with a guaranteed whitelist were eligible to mint Fluffle NFTs yesterday, as it was reserved for a small category of dedicated supporters, potential partners, and community members. However, a larger pool of wallets was eligible to mint the NFTs today, and they sold out in under an hour.
Fluffle NFTs
The Fluffle NFT collection comprises 10,000 non-transferable NFTs that represent a minimum of 5% of the MegaETH token supply.
NFTs in the Fluffle collection are divided into 16 categories with different fictional stories. They include the outlaw, the executor, the soldier, the sage, the witch, the playboy, the femme fatale, the musician, the scientist, the boss, the samurai, the innocent, the muscular, the mad, the pilot, and the yob.
“The birth of Fluffle was a challenging process: Just determining the base body took us nearly a month of back-and-forth. Such a massive workload, of course, wasn’t the result of my idea alone—it’s a team effort, with every piece reflecting the hard work and talent of different people,” said Rose Bao, MegaETH’s creative director.
