Token Flow - Advanced Analytics, Simplified
Sponsored
Token Flow is a Swiss company that is focused on streamlining blockchain analytics, and providing fully decoded blockchain data at scale.
Token Flow Studio, or Studio for short, is an SQL (structured query language) editor service, offering traditional and Web3 native teams and analysts simple and direct data analysis for all on-chain activities and smart contracts.
Blockchain data can make analysis and the drawing of insight difficult for many analysts due to its complexity. Through Studio, developers will have a service at hand to explore blockchain data, create visualizations, query via standard SQL, and publish dashboards.
Studio supports Token Flow’s multi-chain view, which is to simplify the process for analysts as much as possible. Each chain has the same few core tables and consistent schema which makes cross-chain querying significantly easier.
Studio provides multichain data in human-readable format since it is decoded. Currently it includes data from Ethereum, Optimism, Starknet, Mode, Zora, Mint, Base, Blast, Linea and Frame ecosystems, including tables such as storage_diffs, events, calls, transactions, blocks, and more. The team plans to explore integrations with Arbitrum, Polygon and zkSync chains in the near future as well as continuing to add more OP Stack chains.
Smart Contract Decoding
While blockchain data is free and publicly available via nodes and RPCs, it is also difficult to use in its raw form. Token Flow, unlike many indexer teams, focuses not only on processing the data, but also fully and automatically decoding the contents of the chain from genesis, making it easier to work with. All of Token Flow’s datasets available in Studio are already decoded and ready to use, and thanks to their extensive semantics and signature library, contracts without verified code or published ABI can often still be decoded!
Decoded State and Storage
Token Flow’s primary innovations are decoding state and storage. Storage is a smart contract’s own internal ledger and once it is accessible and queryable more reliable analysis can be conducted - for example, getting token balances by holder at any point in time without needing to aggregate numerous calls and events.
Token Flow has been working on making using storage easier - and now storage diffs will be available for Ethereum for everyone to use within Studio rather than just via data warehouse.
How to Get Started
In order to use Token Flow Studio, users can visit the studio homepage and create an account through the “sign up link” via email and password, or through existing social logins.
With Token Flow Studio you can build your own dashboards, run ad-hoc queries, select one of many types available visualizations and build your own dashboards that your can share with anybody.
Through Token Flow, analysts can have a streamlined experience with SQL with a heavy focus on state and storage information for Ethereum. This opens up the path for easily digestible and accurate data of any on-chain account’s history interacting with a particular ERC20 token, or group of tokens for example.

Dune SQL vs TF SQL Editor
All data is readily available in near real time, and is continuously updated and decoded.
The query results can then be converted into the preferred visualization, and shared amongst peers or the wider community for a precise and collaborative approach to data analytics. While anything in history can be queried, some of the useful analyses that Studio works for includes: calculating token holding rates, examining market maker positions, viewing total fees earned for a Uniswap v3 position and more.

Data for Difficult Cases
Token Flow provides a simplified approach to complex cases, where basic data struggles to get the job done.
As well as auto-decoding and storage diffs, this also means indexing non-EVM chains like Starknet, chains based on Cosmos SDK (for example Celestia) or building a complex, cross chain board for tracking DEX activity. You can also explore this data now in Studio!
Summary
Services such as Token Flow Studio aim to streamline the core team and analyst experience.
The tools within Studio are built to service analysts of all levels, whether that's through simple aggregated event or transaction based querying for simpler use cases,, or low level data sets for experienced users and use cases. For power users the full datasets are available directly for integration into pipelines and analytical tools.
