John McAfee’s Wife Launches AI Memecoin to Honor Husband’s Legacy

Janice Elizabeth McAfee, wife of the late John McAfee, said in an X post on Jan. 23 that she’s the mastermind behind an AI memecoin called AIntivirus (AINTI). She also said in a Jan. 23 video message that McAfee’s X account hasn’t been hacked.
McAfee, who founded the McAfee antivirus software and died in June, 2021, was a crypto enthusiast who would have enjoyed this crypto cycle, his wife said.
“I am super excited to announce that I have taken creative control of a product that will expand John's legacy. It encompasses his core beliefs of freedom, privacy, and technology while expanding on his passion for crypto and AI,” said Janice in the X post.
AINTI has soared by a whopping 3,766% in the last 24 hours since Janice announced the AI crypto project. AINTI surged to as high as $1.08 from $0.011. At the time of writing, AINTI was trading at $0.41 with a 24-hour trading volume of $64 million and a market cap of $41 million.

While some crypto community members praised the AI meme crypto project, many have raised concerns that the token may be a scam.
“John being resurrected as a dubious AI crypto scam us the most John McAfee thing possible,” said Cardano Foundation’s co-founder, Charles Hoskinson, in a re-post. “It's going to develop a digital drug habit within a week and then start a metaverse called New Belize before escaping to Europe.”
Many people speculated that McAfee’s account was hacked, but his wife confirmed that it wasn’t. Rumors regarding the account spread like afire when the administrators behind his X account posted, “I'm back with AIntivirus. An AI version of myself.”
“This project is real AI. AIntivirus is real, and I’m super excited about it.” Janice said.
According to blockchain records, the AI token was minted on Jan.6 with a 100 million token supply. During that period and before the announcement today, all AINTI tokens were moved to 277 other wallets, raising concerns about insider activity on AINTI.
“Thank you for reminding me how intense some of you can be with internet sleuthing,” Janice said in response to criticism the token is a scam.
