Punk 635 Sold for $12M in 4th-Highest CryptoPunk Sale Ever

CryptoPunk 635 has changed hands for a whopping $12 million.

The sale marks the fourth-largest in dollar terms for a CryptoPunk, and it lands the transaction in sixth place in terms of ETH.

It’s the first sale for Punk 635 after being claimed on June 23, 2017. After multiple bids, it was transferred–but not sold–in early June 2021. On March 5, 2024, the holder had received another significant bid worth $4,444 ETH or $16.3 million but it was withdrawn nearly a month later.

According to the CryptoPunks website, the purchase is the first of its kind associated with the buyer’s on-chain address, although they instantly transferred the NFT to another address.

The seller has a collection of seven CryptoPunks, two of which are for sale –Punk 30 and Punk 532.

An Active CryptoPunk Market

The CryptoPunk market has been active in recent months, with the collection’s floor price declining from 48 ETH, or $150,000, to 36 ETH, or $115,000, in the past 30 days, according to Magic Eden.

Two of the collection's top sales took place in March, when CryptoPunk 7804 sold for $16.4 million on March 20, landing it in second place all-time. Third place belongs to the sale of CryptoPunk 3100, when it sold on March 4 for $16.03 million.

Top place belongs to Punk 5822 after it was sold on Feb. 12, 2022 for 8,000 ETH or $23 million.

One Of The Largest NFT Collections

CryptoPunks is the third-largest collection by sales volume, only topped by Axie Infinity and Bored Apes Yacht Club, according to CryptoSlam. Launched in 2017, it’s also one of the first NFT collections ever created.

Total lifetime sales reach 1.1 million ETH, or $2.8 billion, with a floor price of $114,000. The collection has witnessed 1,426 sales in the past 12 months.
