Mystery Wallet Burns Digital Assets Worth Over $8M

In a move that has left the crypto community scratching their heads, a mysterious wallet formerly known as nd4.eth has performed an act of digital pyromania, burning digital assets worth millions over the past two weeks.

Just hours ago, the wallet burned $3.6M worth of various tokens including GNS and GMX.

In the past day, this wallet has sent a CryptoPunk, three Bored Apes (BAYC), two Mutant Apes (MAYC), and two Bored Ape Kennel Club (BAKC) NFTs into the virtual bonfire, aka the burn address. In total, this digital blaze consumed blue-chip NFTs worth approximately $280,000 at current floor prices.

2,500 ETH Burned

The same address burned 2,500 ETH worth$4.65M on Jul 26. The wallet held 2,310 ETH on Jan 19 and now has just 0.23 ETH left.

Burning is a process whereby holders send assets to an address from which they can never be retrieved, thus resulting in an irreversible reduction of the asset’s supply.

Speculation is running wild, with the social media community coming up with theories ranging from elaborate performance art to relationship problems.

But the intrigue doesn't end there. The wallet even sent its valuable three-letter ENS domain to the burn address. Registered last year for 9.47 ETH, nd4.eth was valid until 2042, but it seems retirement came early.

One concerned observer sent over an NFT urging the address owner to seek help.

So, as the community watches this digital pyre with a mixture of fascination, bewilderment, and the odd plea for free NFTs, the person behind nd4.eth remains an inscrutable enigma.

It's a tale that's part mystery, part comedy, and all crypto.
