I bet you’re wondering… what the hell is a Meebit? Well, I will tell you. It’s a collection of 20,000 3D characters, each unique but assembled from a randomly generated collection of attributes of varying degrees of scarcity and hence desirability. Sounds like CryptoPunks? Well that’s the idea. That model has been the undeniable party beast of the NFT world, copied over and over and over, most recently by Hashmasks, Artvatars and BoredApeYachtClub. Where the Punks were ultra-simple pixel art, the Meebits step boldly into the future by embracing the Z-axis, flinging themselves with gay abandon into three dimensions. But let’s not get carried away here, simplicity is still the special sauce. The characters are built from voxels.
