ENS Domains, the protocol that issues and manages domain names on the Ethereum blockchain, has announced plans to issue a token and form a DAO to govern the future of the protocol.
The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) is a distributed, open, and extensible naming system based on the Ethereum blockchain. ENS’s job is to map human-readable names like ‘alp. eth’ to machine-readable identifiers such as Ethereum addresses, other cryptocurrency addresses, content hashes, and metadata.
Domain name owners can now start receiving crypto, including BTC, ETH and NFTs thanks to an integration with Ethereum Name Service. Any domain name, including .com and .cash, can now be a public address for payments across any blockchain.
